Central to host Cheshire Division One side Styal FC on Wednesday evening in their third pre-season friendly

Tomkinson will play host Styal FC on Wednesday evening at Wright Robinson College, looking to build upon what has already been a promising pre-season campaign after games against Whitworth Valley and Poynton FC.

Tomkinson and the rest of the management staff will be happy with how pre-season is going, with a range of new and old faces making up the team as the new 2022/23 Manchester Football League season looms ever closer.

Styal, who competes in the Cheshire Football League Division One, will also be looking at this fixture to be one which will give their lads a test of where they are ahead of their respected season starting in August.

Coming off the back of a disappointing season for Styal, finishing fourth bottom and collecting 26 points from 27 games, they will be using pre-season as a chance to regroup and go again as they aim to get back to the top end of the Division One.

Tomkinson is under no illusions that Styal will be pushovers when they come to face them on Wednesday evening.

"Styal will be similar friendly to Poynton in many respects being a team that's been together for a long time. This will allow us an opportunity to get some new lads settled in, giving them more game time in the run-up to the start of the season."

The kick-off is at 8 pm at Wright Robinson College.
