With the fixtures for the 2022/23 Manchester Football League Division One being released, we take a look at who Central will face to kick off the campaign.

Sat 13th Aug - Elton Vale (H) – Seashell Trust Academy

Central start the season against a familiar foe welcoming Elton Vale to the Seashell Trust. The last time Central were in Division One back in 2017 they visited Vale on the opening day with the hosts running out 4-1 winners.

Here is a look back at our last encounter with Elton Vale

Tues 16th - Wilmslow Albion (A) – Oakwood Farm, Wilmslow

Central’s first midweek game of the season comes in the form of an away trip to Wilmslow Albion. The hosts had a tough season last time out finishing bottom of Division One, narrowly avoiding relegation due to league re-structuring. The last time Central visited Wilmslow in the league was on the last day of the 17/18 campaign and saw Paul McGuire's side run out 4-2 winners, clinching promotion to the Premier Division at the same time. Check out the last time Central faced Wilmslow Albion at Oakwood Farm

Sat 27th - Avro (A) – Vestacare Stadium, Oldham

To end the month Central will travel to Oldham to face fellow promoted side Avro. Both games last season were very entertaining, tight affairs with Central running out winners by just the single goal both home and away, including a 3-2 win on the last day of the season to secure promotion. Both sides will be determined to get off to as good a start as possible and we can expect another high action, close run encounter.

Sat 3rd Sep - Bolton United (H) - Seashells Trust

Central start the month in the toughest of fashions as they host recently crowned Division Two champions Bolton United. Bolton United edged both games against Central last year coming out 4-2 and 3-2 winners.

With both sides in fine form coming into the season it should make for a very interesting encounter with both teams wanting to do well and push for as higher finish as they can.

Central begin the season then with a mixture of familiar faces and old enemies as they look to push for a place in the Premier Division from day one. As the league release more fixtures we’ll take a further look into when and where Chris Tomkinson’s side will be battling it out in the Manchester Football League Division One.
