Chris Tomkinson's side will face a strong test in the next round of the Manchester Challenge Trophy. The draw has resulted in a trip to Whittles Park on Saturday the 21st October, where Central will face Denton Town from the Premier Division of the The Cheshire Football League.

After a poor start to the league season, winning just one of seven games. Central made sure they upheld their tradition of keeping dreams alive in the cup. The opening cup fixture at Seashell Trust saw a dramatic performance in which central sealed their fate with a dramatic second half turn around.

Manchester Gregorians took the lead in the fifty second minute, however a Central substitution turned the tide on the fixture. Kemayou stepped onto the pitch with half an hour to play, and two minutes later equalised for the home side.

Then, with just under ten minutes to go, the super sub found the back of the net again to ensure Central are one step closer to reaching the same cup final which they lost so dramatically last season.

As for Denton Town, they are an in form side who will be brimming with confidence. The side returned to the Premier Division this season after finishing second in League One last season.

However, they have settled into the Premier Division nicely and currently sit eighth out of sixteen teams with four wins, two draws and four losses. Furthermore, they started their cup run with an emphatic 9-1 victory away at Abacus Media First, who play in the Premier Division of the Lancashire and Cheshire AFL.

It's all set up for an entertaining second round of the Manchester Challenge Trophy. A not so in form, yet cup loving Manchester Central, up against an in-form and confident Denton Town. A win would see either side just one step away from the final which Central lost on penalties last season.
