Central looking to wrap up three points with the Christmas break looming

Having failed to win any of their previous six league games, despite some fantastic results in the cup, Central will be hoping for lucky seven this weekend away at Boothstown.
Boothstown currently sit twelfth in the league with just three wins from thirteen games, but as East Manchester showed Central a couple of weeks ago, the league table does not always tell the full story.
Boothstown have also showed that this season as two of their three wins have come against top half teams, Bolton Borough and Bolton Lads and Girls Club. Meaning Central will need to be at their best if they want to get back to working their way back up the league table.
Although, if there was a game where Centrals striker could get back to finding the back of the net, judging on Boothstowns recent form, it could be this Saturday.
Boothstown have conceded thirteen goals in their last three matches, including four against bottom of the league Wilmslow Albion, and a 6-1 defeat against Altrincham Hale last weekend.
Despite only scoring five goals in our last four games, it isn't down to a lack of ability, or a string of poor performances.
Central have recently dominated games in parts but failed to find that final product when needed. Chris Tomkinson also emphasised this last Saturday, stating that he thought his team were probably the better side for most of the game, and created more chances than Avenue, despite the 2-1 defeat.

They have also shown in the cup, and in the recently postponed game against Bolton United what a threat they can be when things tick all over the pitch. Hence, an early goal could be just what Central need to get some confidence back into a team which are capable of far more than what their recent form suggests.
A win for Central could mean they climb back up to seventh place in the league, but only if Bolton Lads and Girls Club happen to drop points against second to bottom Hindley Juniors.
Despite promotion thoughts now not being much more than a distant memory for most players, Central showed last season that anything is possible in the second half of the season.
Therefore, with just two games to go before a three week Christmas break, ending the first half of the season with a win or two would be a nice stocking filler which could make all the difference come the end of the season.
