Manchester Central are back in action in Division One and look to build on their impressive 2-1 victory over Bolton United. Let’s look at five key things that you will need to look out for as Central host Wilmslow Albion.

WILMSLOW ALBION SEEK RETRIBUTION IN RETURN FIXTURE

This will already be the final time these two sides face each other in league action this season, following their clash in just the second game played in Division One. Central ran out 3-2 winners away from home where Fuad Kasali and Gabriel Wiwoloku were among the goals in a thriller.

Wilmslow will look to get their own back this time around, against a side who come off the back of a crucial victory at the top of the table. If the first fixture is anything to go by, Central must have their guard up and expect a tough challenge once more when Wilmslow visit Seashell’s Trust.

CENTRAL PURSUE MOMENTUM, WILMSLOW LOOK FOR SPARK

Manchester Central have endured a good start to the season so far, picking up four wins out of their first five. Chris Tomkinson’s side will now look to build on their recent victory over Bolton United and build a run of games that can see them extend their lead at the top of Division One.

Wilmslow Albion on the other hand, have struggled to find any rhythm so far this season, only picking up four points from a possible 15. The side from Cheshire are seeking a spark that will kickstart their season into life, starting with a huge test at Manchester Central.

SERIOUS CHALLENGERS OR WARMING THE SEAT?

Big questions follow Central as they have stormed to the top of the table after their opening five games, including chances of a title charge and whether a serious challenge can be sustained until the end of the campaign.

Perhaps it is too early to predict so early on, but we will likely have answers as to whether Central are a genuine threat for the league title, or whether they are just keeping the top spot warm temporarily over the coming weeks.

Time will tell, but the signs have certainly been encouraging and if Central can manage to build a run of games together where they are consistently picking up points, their chances of a title challenge will only increase.

WOES AWAY FROM HOME A WORRY FOR WILMSLOW?

Despite Wilmslow’s difficult start to the campaign, four of their five opening games have been at home, with their only away trip ending in a crushing 5-0 defeat at Tintwistle Athletic. And despite only having played once away from home, could their lack of away action be a cause for concern.

Now with their second away fixture to be played against the current league leaders, could another potential thrashing cause some major worries for Wilmslow, and begin a trend that would not bode well for future fixtures away from home.

KASALI AND WIWOLOKU TOO MUCH TO HANDLE

Chris Tomkinson’s side have no question been a force from back to front this season, with a real team spirit and unity in place, however at the front end of the pitch Fuad Kasali and Gabriel Wiwoloku have been a force to be reckoned with for Division One sides so far.

Having scored a combined eight goals from Central’s total of 13 this season, it seems that these two cannot be stopped, and they may have another Division One defence at their mercy when they step onto the pitch once more.
